Released after the death of John Lennon, this comeback attempt includes original compositions from Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Harry Nilsson. The atmosphere is generally playful and humorous, making it a lighthearted affair. Produced by Starr, it features a predictable swath of big-name guest musicians. Ringo covers the John Lennon composition "Grow Old With Me" on this 2019 release, his 20th studio album. Frequent collaborator and brother-in-law Joe Walsh pops up, as do industry icons Glen Ballard, Van Dyke Parks, and Dave Stewart. 'Ringo 2012' by Ringo StarrĪnother Ringo album means another star-studded affair, with songs alternating between originals, covers, and regurgitations. He was kicked off the Atlantic label after it flopped. It wrangles in a host of guest contributors and incorporates elements of soul music and even disco. 'Ringo the 4th' by Ringo Starrĭespite the title, this is Ringo's sixth studio album and also one of his worst. The song "Here's to the Nights" features guest vocals from a slate of high-profile artists, including Sheryl Crow, Joe Walsh, Jenny Lewis, Lenny Kravitz, Chris Stapleton, Ben Harper, Dave Grohl, Corinne Bailey Rae, Paul McCartney, and others. Recorded in Ringo's home studio during the coronavirus, this five-track EP rolled out to mixed reviews. Fellow rock stars Eric Clapton and John Entwistle make guest appearances on the instrumental jam "Everybody's in a Hurry But Me." Released in certain territories in 1983, the album wasn't distributed in the United States until 11 years later. 'Old Wave' by Ringo StarrĮagles alum Joe Walsh produced this rote collection of rock tunes, which suffers due to Ringo's vocal limitations.

Their work continues and so should our interest and excitement about that work and so, without further delay, let’s dive into this month’s summary. What follows below is a summary of these articles, posts and announcements I’ve gathered recently regarding all things regarding album cover artists and the art they produce. With that said, this month’s edition of the ACHOF News Update and Summary is still rather chock-full includes the album cover artist/art news and updates you’ve come to expect in these monthly summaries. After watching all six episodes of the ICON music photography series on PBS, it also brought to my attention that there are several gaping holes in this site’s bio section that must be filled immediately if I want this year’s nominating process to reflect who is left of the “best of the best” that might be nominated for inclusion in this year’s class of inductees, so I’ve put a few research projects on “hold” until this bone-headed oversight on my part can be corrected.
